Creating the Right Vintage Wedding Look
Vintage wedding photography is not simply about adding a filter or changing colours during editing. Most of the final look is created before the photo is even taken.
The dress, hairstyle, makeup, flowers, jewellery, accessories, and location all influence the atmosphere of the session. Even a relatively simple location can work extremely well when the styling and light match the idea.
I always look at the entire scene rather than just the person in front of the camera. Background, colour combinations, available light, and small details all help create the final image.

You Don’t Need Experience in Front of the Camera
One of the most common concerns people have before a photoshoot is not knowing how to pose.
That is completely fine.
You do not need modelling experience to get professional wedding or portrait photographs. During the session I help with body position, hands, movement, facial expressions, and where to look. Sometimes even a small change in posture can completely change the photograph.
With more than 10 years of experience in photography, I have worked with many different people, locations, and photography styles. My job is not simply to press the shutter. I guide you through the session and help create poses that fit both you and the concept.

Vintage Wedding Photography and Video in Calgary
Photography is only one part of what I do.
I use Sony A7 IV cameras for both professional photography and videography, which allows me to easily combine photo and video during the same session.
When possible, I also capture several short video clips that can later be turned into vertical content for Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, or other social media platforms.

For wedding-inspired sessions, video can add another dimension to the story. Movement of the dress, hair, flowers, and small interactions often look completely different in motion than they do in a still photograph.
A Different Approach to Every Photoshoot
I do not want every photoshoot to look the same.
Different people, locations, clothing, and ideas should create different photographs. Over the years I have worked with weddings, portraits, couples, models, events, lifestyle photography, automotive photography, motorcycle photography, and video production.
Working across different types of photography has helped me develop a more flexible approach. Sometimes a wedding photoshoot needs to feel romantic and soft. Another session may work better with stronger contrast, dramatic light, or a more editorial style.
The concept should fit the people in front of the camera rather than forcing everyone into the same photography style.
